Pediatric Laparoscopy & Ambulatory Daycare Surgery
3mm Keyhole Precision & Same-Day Recovery for Common and Complex Childhood Conditions
Clinical Scope & Conditions Treated
Pediatric Daycare and Laparoscopic Surgery combines cutting-edge minimally invasive keyhole techniques with specialized ambulatory pathways tailored to pediatric physiology. More than 60% of all childhood operations—including inguinal hernias, hydroceles, circumcisions, appendicitis, gallstones, undescended testes, and congenital cysts—fall under this ambulatory domain. Using ultra-miniaturized 3mm keyhole instruments, surgery is performed through incisions smaller than a grain of rice, leaving near-invisible marks.
Unlike adult conditions which often stem from aging, degenerative tears, or lifestyle factors, pediatric surgical conditions are almost entirely congenital anatomical openings. For instance, a pediatric inguinal hernia is caused by the natural failure of the fetal peritoneal lining to seal (patent processus vaginalis), not a torn abdominal muscle. Because the child's muscular abdominal wall is completely healthy, synthetic artificial mesh is NEVER required. Reconstructive high ligation restores natural anatomy permanently with zero foreign material.
Dr. Raghul M's Surgical Leadership
Dr. Raghul M is a Fellow of the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (FMAS) and twice recipient of the prestigious Prof. T. Dorairajan Minimally Invasive Surgery Medal (in 2018 at TAPSCON Thanjavur and in 2024 at TPPS). He is a pioneer in emergency infant laparoscopy whose surgical achievements have been featured in Deccan Chronicle and Chennai Prime News for salvaging strangulated organs in young infants. He has standardized ambulatory daycare pathways at Dr. Mehta's Children's Hospital Chetpet, Maa Kauvery Kovilambakkam, and Dr. Raghul's Pediatric Surgical Clinic at Hive Fertility Centre Selaiyur.
- •Double Recipient of Prof. TDR Minimally Invasive Surgery Medal (2018 & 2024): Honored twice by the State Association for outstanding clinical distinction and innovation in advanced pediatric laparoscopy.
- •Fellow of Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (FMAS): Recognized fellowship in advanced keyhole techniques with dedicated focus on pediatric and neonatal minimally invasive access.
- •National Best Paper Award at PESICON New Delhi: Recognized nationally for published research on pediatric keyhole techniques and ambulatory outcomes.
- •Pioneer in Emergency Infant Laparoscopic Salvage: Mainstream press coverage (Deccan Chronicle, Dinakural) for successful keyhole ovarian and bowel salvage in acute infant hernia crises.

Clinical Standards of Surgical Care
Standards practiced across all consultations and operations
- 1.Pencil-Thin 3mm InstrumentationKeyhole instruments thinner than a pencil leave tiny punctures that heal into virtually invisible hair-thin lines hidden in natural skin creases.
- 2.True Ambulatory Daycare ModelAdmitted at 8:00 AM, operated by 10:00 AM, and resting in their own home bed by 4:00 PM with familiar home food and toys.
- 3.Zero Painful Bandage RemovalsSub-cuticular dissolving sutures are sealed under waterproof skin glue. There are zero painful dressing changes and no stitches to remove.
- 4.Next-Day Normal BathingWaterproof medical adhesive allows gentle sponge baths or showers the following morning without fear of wound infection.
